Gomoku knows how to hold a room — and that's exactly why I love bringing a craft night there. You'll be making your own winter welcome mat, which sounds simple until you realize how satisfying it is to leave with something you actually made and will actually use. I'll walk you in from zero — no art background, no prep, just show up. We'll build it up together, and I promise the messier your hands get, the more fun it usually is. It's a good crowd, a good venue, and a craft that ends up on your doorstep.
At Gomoku, we take the stress out of event planning with our comprehensive range of services. From crafting signature cocktails to planning the perfect menu and coordinating every detail of your decor to make the event venue of your dreams, our team of experts is here to ensure that your event is flawless from start to finish. Excited to be hosting Paint Nite, Canada's favourite paint and sip experience, we hope to see you soon for the best night out in Oshawa, Whitby and Durham region!

Janna has been happily hosting Paint Nite since 2018. As a Master Artist, she has garnered a dedicated following with her passion, technique, and delightful sense of humour. She is constantly experimenting with new mediums and her clothes and hands always tell a colourful, messy story. When Janna puts down her paintbrush she can be found baking custom cakes and treats that further showcase her creative talent, and taste delicious too! Come have a drink with her and paint your own masterpiece!
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Create your own winter welcome mat is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Janna breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Crafts events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
Janna is a real local artist based in Oshawa — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 10 out of 11 guests who've painted with Janna say the instruction was amazing. Nithya A. said: 'This is such a great social and artistic experience. Janna is amazing and I learned a lot while meeting some fun people.'
Gomoku Restaurant is a local venue in Oshawa — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Crafts events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 29 upcoming events in Oshawa this month. You can view them here.
Create your own winter welcome mat is a winter painting — cozy seasonal vibes for a great night out.
Your ticket to Create your own winter welcome mat includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Janna. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Gomoku Restaurant — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Gomoku Restaurant's event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Janna starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Crafts event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Crafts cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
