Roann is originally from Southern California and embodies that creative and laid-back Cali style. She loves her Mojave desert upbringing and is a cactus enthusiast! Roann has been in the military almost 20 years and is currently serving in the PA Air National Guard. Moving around every few years and long deployments prevented Roann from having the garden of her dreams so she focused on small gardens and potted plants to enjoy her passion. Upon leaving each duty station she would gift her plants and creations to friends and neighbors. Now, rooted in Harrisburg, Roann is able to spend more time with her love of gardening. Her sunroom contains thriving tropicals, succulents, ferns and yes, cactus! She also tends 2 large raised beds for fruit and veg during the summer months. She also enjoys traveling the world. Roann has been to 5 continents and over 85 countries. Some of her favorite adventures include Morocco, the UK, Norway, and Egypt. Roann further fulfills her passion for the outdoors by Hiking Central PA with her dog, Bubba. She also rides a motorcycle, is a killer chef, and a dedicated youth volleyball coach in the region.
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Choose your Deco - Wood Drawer is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Roann breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Plant Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
Roann is a real local artist based in Harrsiburg — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. Paint Nite artists complete our certification program before their first event. Across all Paint Nite events, 93% of guests say their instructor was amazing.
The Pour House on Derry is a local venue in Harrsiburg — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Plant Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Your ticket to Choose your Deco - Wood Drawer includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Roann. Drinks and food are ordered separately from The Pour House on Derry — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
The Pour House on Derry's event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Roann starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Plant Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Plant Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
