Do I need any painting experience?

None. Your artist walks the whole room through the painting stroke by stroke over about two hours, and everyone leaves with a finished canvas. Most guests have never painted before.

Where do I park near Jennie's Boxcar?

There's free parking at or near Jennie's Boxcar.

Can I order food and drinks during the event?

Yes — the bar and cocktail list stays open while you paint. Food and drinks are ordered from and paid to the venue, and aren't part of your seat price.

How early should I arrive?

Doors open 30 minutes before the painting starts. Come early, grab your seat and order a drink — the artist starts on time.

So you like Mexican food. That place with the bell? Naw.. let talk about Jennie's Boxcar in East Moline! The atmosphere has the industrial look from the local building, but the food...oh the food! It's not the standard ground beef and cheese taco your mom made on Tuesdays. These tacos are authentic street style tacos with a gourmet flavor. The biggest decision you'll have to make is do you order 3 or 4. What goes best with tacos? Tequila, duh. They have a very nice selection of drinks available to complement your dinner. Don't expect the beans and rice sides. It's just tacos. If you want an appetizer to fill those tummy voids, order the nachos, whatever flavor sparks your desires. Just plan on leaving and wanting a siesta. You don't have to run to the border, unless it's the East Moline border to visit Jennie's Boxcar.

I was in town for business and I come here to this area quite often and had never seen this place before. When my hotel room wasn’t ready I drove back to have a late lunch. I’m glad I did. The service was wonderful, the Barbacoa torta and chips were phenomenal! The owner took the time to speak with me and answer all my annoying questions. I will definitely come by my next time in town!

This is a really cool, chill place. In addition to the great chips and salsa/queso/guac, the tacos are delicious. I had steak and shrimp tacos and they're full of flavor. They server was very attentive and our orders came quick. For aesthetics, they have beautiful murals on the walls. On the way to the restrooms, there are pinball machines to enjoy and awesome banners above them. This is a fantastic eatery for street tacos (haven't tried the desserts, although they sound delectable!) near the Mississippi River. If you're a local or just in town temporarily, check out Jennie's.
