This was a cute restaurant, the food was good. We tried almost everything on the Menu. We were 11 people so we ordered the tacos El pastor, carne Asada, fish tacos , i had a plate of cilantro rice, black beans and steak. The kids had white rice, chicken and steak. Appetizers, Guacamole and chips, chicken Flautas were yummy. The guava and cumber/ Jalapeño magaritas were on point. The server's were sweet and attentive. Thank you all!
This place is excellent. We stopped in for and were extremely satisfied. Their food is exceptional and margaritas were top notch. I highly recommend the carnitas and steak tacos. Both great choices. The tortilla soup was also excellent.
Party of 2 Setting & Atmosphere: We arrived early, just before 5, and the restaurant was fairly empty. We were greeted politely and seated at the first available four-top. While the table itself was spacious and comfortable, it was positioned in the center of the room with no sense of privacy. In an otherwise empty dining room, this felt more like a lack of awareness than necessity. Chips and salsa were provided gratis. The salsa was excellent—fresh, well-balanced, and clearly house-made—but the portion was quite small. The room itself was festive and well-decorated. However, due to the table placement, my view faced the service area. With the restaurant still quiet, staff were gathered nearby waiting for the dinner rush, and some behind-the-scenes activity was visible—things that happen in every restaurant but are rarely in full view of guests. Service: Our server was pleasant and offered honest recommendations, though the overall energy was somewhat subdued. Service was functional but not particularly engaging. Beverage: We were offered water, which arrived without ice but tasted filtered and clean. The beverage program is extensive for a cantina, with American and Mexican sodas, juices, milkshakes, and a full bar (though nothing on tap). We chose non-alcoholic options. The virgin piña colada was refreshing and well-presented. My wife’s vanilla milkshake was good but leaned more milky than vanilla-forward. I ordered a Roy Rogers; the server was unfamiliar with it, and while the bar made it, the proportions were off and it lacked proper garnish. Food Opening Course: We started with guacamole, choosing the fire-roasted corn variation based on our server’s recommendation. It was well-presented and flavorful, though the chipotle heat was stronger than expected. In hindsight, we would have preferred the base version. Still, for those who enjoy a bit of spice, it’s a solid option. Entrées: The menu leans more Tex-Mex cantina than traditional Mexican, with approachable, shareable dishes. We both ordered fajitas. My wife chose the vegetable option, which was heavily centered on squash, along with corn, onions, and peppers. As she isn’t a fan of squash and there was little variation beyond that, the dish didn’t quite land for her. I ordered the trio—skirt steak, shrimp, and chicken. Both arrived sizzling and were served with pico de gallo, shredded cheese, sour cream, and four flour tortillas. Notably absent were rice, beans, or lettuce. The portion size was generous—arguably too large for the number and size of tortillas provided. Additional tortillas are sold separately, which felt unnecessary given the price point. At $36, the value initially seemed fair based on quantity, but the tortilla limitation detracted from the experience. The proteins were mixed in execution. The chicken was well-seasoned, the shrimp were clearly pre-processed and lacked char but were not overly watery, and the skirt steak was the standout. It was beautifully cooked to a true medium rare, properly sliced, and exceptionally flavorful. If returning, I would strongly recommend any dish featuring the skirt steak. We skipped dessert for this restaurant. Final Thoughts: This restaurant’s strength lies in its beverage program, with many specials centered around alcohol. The space is lively and visually appealing, but the experience felt somewhat geared toward drinkers rather than diners. The restaurant is kid-friendly in atmosphere, though there is no dedicated section on the main menu for children, there might be a separate menu or placemat available. Service and pacing also gave a subtle sense of turnover priority rather than hospitality. Additional Notes: Staff presence in guest view should be more discreet during slower periods A noticeable odor near the restroom suggests the grease trap may need attention Rating: 3 out of 5
