Easily the best burger I've had in a long time. It's so hard to find a burger patty that's actually flavored, even in the states. And this one was flavored amazingly to pair well with the toppings on it!
I’m going to assume this was just a bad night for Portage Orchard, based on such a high review score overall… however our experience was disappointing. Our waiter was friendly and courteous - however he was the only waiter on a Saturday night at 6pm. Was not greeted at table for over 5 minutes - clearly they were understaffed this evening and this is managements fault, not the wait or cooking staff. Atmosphere: good, nice location. Beer selection good - a few local craft brews on tap. After ordering, we waited almost 45 minutes before seeing the first plate (after asking and flagging down wait staff). Food: The kids fish and chips was a very large portion and tasted good. Portage Burger was good but slightly overcooked/dry. Chicken curry - lacking flavor, good overall. Beef Braised Stout: unfortunately we can’t give this an honest review since a mistake was made in kitchen and it was served with curry sauce. Cobb Salad was good.
To start off from the moment we arrived we were greeted with a nice smile by Miss LeBrun. She quickly suggested a nice area to sit and eat. She wasted no time taking our order within a reasonable time frame. The food was all around pretty good as well as the atmosphere.
